& Preventing Mold

now a code requirement in all new construction and remodeling.
Spitzack Builders began including them as soon as they
became available and several years before they became
a requirement.

Duel
Fuel & Off Peak Options
Heating
your home and managing your hot water supply are two areas
where you can save money and conserve energy.
Duel Fuel
refers to a
heating system that has electricity as the major fuel
source and propane as the back-up fuel source. This system
allows your power comany to "turn off" the electricity
to your furnace during heavy usage periods. The system
then automatically reverts to the back-up fuel. You will
not notice any interuption in your heat or efficiency.
But, by building in this option, the power company bills
you at a lower rate for your heat.
Off
Peak refers
to a system for managing your hot water heating. It requires
the installation of a larger than normal water heater
that operates at full power between the "off-peak"
hours of 11PM and & 7AM. This system also provides
a greatly reduced electric rate. With normal use, this
option is well-suited for most families. And, with a bit
of conscientous conservation, will accommodate guests
during their visit.
Your
local power company can provide you with additional information
on these sytems.
